How to Pass NISM Exam in the first attempt

Many students come to us for advice on how to pass the NISM Certification Exams. Learning sharks has been regularly guiding students and aiding them in their exam preparation through mock examinations, study material, and so on. Also, we believed it would be beneficial to share these exam suggestions with everyone. Here are some helpful hints:

How to Pass the NISM Exam on the First Try

  • Choose the Best Exam and Study Material
  • Cover to cover, read the Workbook.
  • Use PrepCafe/passforsure Mocks (Practice Exams)
  • Online Registration and Enrollment on the NISM Certifications Portal
  • Pass the Test

Choosing the Correct Exam:

The first step in preparing for any exam is to choose and prepare for the correct exam. Because a few tests may seem identical in nomenclature, be cautious and select the correct examination as you may become confused with the many exams carrying similar names. People frequently mix up the Mutual Fund Distributors Exam and the RTA – Mutual Fund Exam, or Depository Operations and Securities Operations & Risk Management. As a result, this brief instructional may assist you in selecting the appropriate NISM exam.

\While the majority of us in the Indian Securities Markets understand securities market participants through job roles and designations such as broker, trader, dealer, salesman, accountant, back-office personnel, and so on, SEBI has not mandated NISM Certification Exams based on such job roles or designations. Instead, these tests are mandated based on the activities performed by the concerned person, such as a trader conducting transactions on behalf of clients, a salesman directly selling mutual funds, back-office / operations workers verifying KYC documents, and so on.

Preparing for the NISM Exam

Once you’ve selected which exam is best for you, you may get study materials to help you prepare. The following study materials are available for the NISM Certification Exam:

You can obtain soft copies of any study materials from the NISM exam site only after registering for the exam, booking a seat, and paying the exam cost to NISM via its examination portal at https://certifications.nism.ac.in/nismaol

The study material for the NISM Certification Examinations is a workbook of around 100 to 200 pages. To comprehend the principles, you must read the entire book from cover to cover at least once. Otherwise, the exam will be difficult. At 2-3 hours of study time per day, it usually takes 1-2 weeks to complete the workbook. If you are unable to understand a concept, use a reference book or conduct an internet search for such topics. It would be a risky notion to take an exam when most of your concepts are unclear, given most of the questions are conceptual in nature.

All exams are made up of multiple-choice questions, with only one correct answer. Some tests also include numerical problems for which calculators and excel sheets are permitted to be used. Because most tests carry negative marks, you should study really hard.

After you have finished studying the workbook, you can take a few mock examinations to gauge your level of preparation. If you can easily pass the mock exams on mock tests, you should have a good chance of passing the final exam.
